It is wholly owned by the HKSAR Government, and consolidates the management of the investment activities of the Hong Kong Growth Portfolio, Greater Bay Area Investment Fund, Strategic Tech Fund, and the Co-Investment Fund. Chief Investment Officer

Key Responsibilities
  • Report to the Chief Executive Officer
  • Develop, implement and update the investment strategies to achieve the HKIC’s goals
  • Develop and guide the investment team to execute the investment strategies
  • Monitor global market and industry trends, analyze market landscape and make investment recommendations
  • Source, evaluate and screen potential investment partners and projects
  • Identify investment risks and devise appropriate mitigation tools in consultation with the Chief Risk Officer and team
  • Lead investment negotiations and closing documentation
  • Manage the investment portfolio and post-investment matters
  • Build and implement appropriate infrastructure for investment operations and related matters
Requirements
  • Upholding the Basic Law of the HKSAR
  • Committed to contributing to the future development of Hong Kong and achieving the HKIC’s objectives
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience
  • Extensive knowledge of financial markets, both private and public
  • Sound understanding of portfolio management, operations and risk management
  • Solid track record in senior leadership role(s) in reputable organization(s)
  • Strong ability and passion to grow, develop and manage the investment team
  • Proven analytical ability to derive directions and opportunities through both quantitative and qualitative perspectives
  • Global mind-set and strategic thinking
  • Prior experience in governmental or public institutional investors an advantage
  • Strong sense of integrity and professional ethics
  • Understanding of the structure of the HKSAR Government and proven experience in taking forward liaison work with bureaux/departments
  • Good command of written and spoken Chinese and English
